#1) 45.1g of ice at 0.00C is mixed with 112g of water at 95C. What is the final temperature of themixture?

#2) 22.1g of steam at 100C is bubbled into 345g of water at 34C. What is the final temperature of the mix?

#3) 2009.1g of ice at -9.00C is added to 390.21g of steam at 100C. What is the temperature of this mixture?

#4) A 45g block of metal at 99.21C is added to 122.1g of water at 21.0C. The Cp of the metal block is 0.112J/g, what is the final temperature?

#5) A block of metal at 21.4C is added to 100g of water at 90C. The Cp of metal block is .215J/g, if the final temperature is 61.5C what is the mass of the metal block?

I believe

I know my answer to #1 is correct. I know my answer for #2-5 aren't. I don't understand what I am doing wrong or how I even set up #4-5.

Just remember the

Just remember the formula Heat gained by one = Heat lost by other

I will use this to explain about part one , you can use the same forumula to solve all the problems

Mice Lf + SM ice ( T final - 0o C ) = SMwater ( T initial - T final )

45.1g of ice at 0.00C is mixed with 112g of water at 95C. What is the final temperature of themixture?

Now can we solve this?

Lf is the symbol for the heat of fusion in calories/gram.

M is mass

T temp

Just put the value of all the parameters to find T final

Similarly we can do for other parts...hope this helps
