How do you solve a proabula? I know the formula -b/2a but it's just not clicking for me.

I am not sure what you are asking , are you asking for Parabola?

If $y^2$ =4ax is the equation of parabola then

Vertex is (0,0)

Focus is ( a ,0)

Equation of direcctrix is x=-a

Equation of Latus rectum is x=a

Length of L R is = 4a
